Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday responded to the ongoing uproar regarding the law and order situation in Mumbai city following the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and said that what happened was unfortunate, but it would not be correct to say that Mumbai is unsafe.

“Police has given all details regarding what happened. What kind of attack is this, what is actually behind this and what was the intention behind the attack is all before you,” Fadnavis said while addressing media.

Fadnavis’s reaction came after the Opposition parties launched an all-out attack on the ruling BJP questioning Mumbai city’s law and order situation.

Opposition Attacks Maharashtra Govt

Slamming the Mahayuti-led government in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi Chaturvedi said, “If celebrities are not safe, who in Mumbai is.”

“What a shame that Mumbai sees another high-profile attempt on life, the attack on Saif Ali Khan yet again raises questions on Mumbai Police and the Home Minister. This is after a series of incidents that show there is a deliberate attempt to undermine Mumbai by targeting big names,” the Rajya Sabha MP from Shiv Sena (UBT) said on X.

NCP (SP) Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule, who is also a friend of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s family, said the incident was worrisome.
