The upcoming Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), scheduled between March 21 and 23 in Bengaluru, will be one of the most crucial meets across years for the RSS.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is marking its centenary year, is now set to sharpen its focus on demographic challenges—with deliberations on NRC, CAA, a comprehensive population policy, and national security concerns, including infiltration.
The RSS is also expected to discuss and deliberate elaborately on Hindu unity as reports of attacks on Hindus—starting from Bangladesh to across the globe—continue to pour in. Attacks on temples will also be taken up, News18 has learnt.
A senior RSS functionary said, “The Sangh will discuss all issues related to national interest and the nation’s security. Issues related to the changing demographic patterns that are impacting social and cultural stability would also be taken up with a special emphasis on border infiltration and illegal immigration.”
The Sangh has long viewed the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as essential tools to address demographic imbalances and protect the nation’s integrity. Sources, however, indicate that a push for a clear, long-term population policy aimed at maintaining demographic equilibrium may also feature prominently in the deliberations.
“Issues related to Hindu unity, and the instances of attacks on Hindus and our temples are likely to take centrestage as well,” he added.
“The issues will be discussed, but Sangh always looks for consensus from all corners. That is the most crucial thing. Building consensus on an issue is the foundation to approach or address a national issue,” said a source in the RSS ranks.
The source further added that infiltration from neighbouring countries is likely to be flagged as a threat not just to national security but to cultural harmony as well.
The discussions will also highlight how these demographic pressures influence local politics, resource allocation, and security, particularly in border states.
ABPS is the Sangh’s highest decision-making body and the meeting will have representation from all its affiliates and inspired organisations. Along with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, all joint general secretaries and other officials, all members of the executive committees will be present during the meeting.
A total of 1,500 Karyakartas (functionaries), mainly elected representatives from Prant and Kshetra levels (RSS zones and segments), are expected to participate in this meeting. The national president, general secretary, organisational secretary of RSS-inspired organisations and affiliates, including its political front BJP, will also be present.
