Congress MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan’s 17-year-old son, Ayan Khan, died by suicide at their residence on Monday. Ayan, a class 12 student, had been introduced to Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, during his recent visit to Bihar.
The incident took place at Khan’s official residence in Patna and police officials have arrived at the scene. Ayan had one brother and one sister, who is studying law in England.
The news of Ayan’s death has sent shockwaves through both the local community and Congress circles.
Khan, who is currently outside Patna, is expected to return to his family by 2 PM after hearing the news. Family members have already gathered at the residence.
