Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted members of the multi-party delegations part of the Operation Sindoor global outreach on Tuesday, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and other leaders thanked him for giving them the opportunity to serve the nation.
Supriya Sule of NCP(SP), Sanjay Jha of JD(U), Shrikant Shinde of Shiv Sena, SP’s Rajeev Rai, Congress leader Manish Tewari and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey were among others who extended their gratitude.
“We are all grateful for the opportunity to be of service to the nation, Pradhan Mantriji @narendramodi! Jai Hind,” (sic) Tharoor wrote while sharing Modi’s post on X about the reception at his official residence. He had led the delegation to the Americas.
The members of the all-party delegations comprised MPs and former diplomats, who travelled to 33 world capitals over the past few weeks. Four delegations were led by MPs of the ruling alliance, including two from the BJP, one from JD(U) and one from Shiv Sena, while three were led by opposition MPs, one each of the Congress, DMK and NCP(SP).
At the reception, Modi said he was proud of the manner in which the multi-party delegations presented India’s views in various countries on the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism following the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.
“Met members of the various delegations who represented India in different countries and elaborated on India’s commitment to peace and the need to eradicate the menace of terrorism. We are all proud of the manner in which they put forward India’s voice,” he wrote on X.
Members shared their experience with him, with the central government having already praised the work of the seven delegations comprising over 50 persons, mostly current MPs.

“Thank you Hon’ble Prime Minister ji @narendramodi for entrusting us with this important responsibility to articulate India’s firm stance against terrorism and our unwavering commitment to the unity and integrity of the nation,” Sule, who led her team to Qatar, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Egypt, wrote on X.
Sule, JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha and Shive Sena MP Shrikant Shinde were among those who had led their delegations to different parts of the world. “Had the great honour to meet Hon PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and put across details of our visits to different countries with the message of zero tolerance against terror and Operation Sindoor. Grateful to Hon PM’s insightful guidance,” Jha, who led his team to Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, wrote on X.
“Today, there was an informal meeting of all delegation members with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the discussion, the Prime Minister interacted with everyone… All the people shared their experiences. The experiences of how each country reacted towards India were shared. Everyone emphasised one point that if such bilateral meetings continue, it will benefit India, and our relations with other countries will strengthen,” Shinde, who had led the delegation to the UAE, Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, told news agency ANI.
After meeting, SP MP Rajeev Rai said: “It was a very casual interaction with the PM. I had prepared a report, which I presented to him. He appreciated it. Every country we visited condemned the incident (Pahalgam terror attack) and promised to support India in the fight against terrorism.”
Congress leader Manish Tewari said members of the various all-party teams shared their impressions with Modi during the informal meeting. “…He (PM) conveyed his own impressions. On the whole, it was an informal and freewheeling conversation. Most importantly, everybody was able to share the inputs they had collected across various nations. It was a holistic and comprehensive conversation,” he said.
“It was a proud moment to advocate for a strong India under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Modi Ji. Today, by informally meeting all of us, Prime Minister Ji made us feel that he had a keen eye on every delegation,” BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote on X.
The Centre had sent the multi-party delegations to portray a message of national unity in the fight against terrorism, with the likes of Tharoor and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi joining the ruling alliance members in championing the Indian cause abroad. Prominent former parliamentarians in the delegations included ex-Union ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid.
