It was a bittersweet victory for Atishi on Saturday as Delhi’s outgoing chief minister defeated her opponent Ramesh Bidhuri in Kalkaji but her party AAP lost the Delhi elections, ending its decade-long rule in the Capital.
Speaking to News18, Atishi said: “I would like to thank the people of Kalkaji for their support. It’s the mandate of people of Delhi and we accept it. But this is a setback for us.”
She also vowed to continue the fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which clinched a massive victory in the national capital after nearly three decades.
